Director of Activities

Buffalo Center is hiring a Director of Activities in Buffalo, NY.

Duties Include:

 Program Planning & Execution:

·  Evaluate the needs, interests, and physical or cognitive limitations of participants to ensure activities are inclusive and appropriately modified.

·  Administrative Management

·  Staff & Volunteer Oversight

·  Compliance & Documentation

Community engagement

Requirements:

• In New York State, the Activity Director (under federal CMS F-Tag 680) must be a qualified professional licensed/registered by the state if applicable. The individual must meet one of the following requirements:

  • Therapeutic Recreation Specialist: Be eligible for certification as a therapeutic recreation specialist or as an activities professional by a recognized accrediting body.

  • Experience: Have 2 years of experience in a social or recreational program within the last 5 years, one of which was full-time in a therapeutic activities program.

  • Occupational Therapy: Be a qualified Occupational Therapist (OT) or Occupational Therapy Assistant.

  • State-Approved Training: Have completed an activity training course approved by the State of New York.
