Moderate Sedation Nurse (RN) – Vascular Procedures
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to provide moderate sedation and peri-procedural care in a vascular-focused setting. This role supports a range of minimally invasive vascular procedures, treating primarily elderly patients from nursing home settings.
This is a high-responsibility role requiring strong clinical judgment, vigilance, and the ability to respond quickly in a procedural environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Administer and monitor moderate sedation in accordance with established protocols.
Perform thorough pre-procedure assessments (history, medications, risk factors, NPO status).
Continuously monitor airway, vital signs, cardiac rhythm, and level of consciousness.
Identify and manage sedation-related complications and emergencies.
Provide post-procedure recovery care and determine discharge readiness.
Accurately document medications, sedation levels, and patient response.
Ensure compliance with all clinical, safety, and regulatory standards.
Communicate effectively with physicians, staff, and facility personnel.
Procedural Exposure May Include
Angiograms and venograms
Angioplasty and stent placement
Peripheral vascular interventions
Qualifications:
Active RN license.
BLS and ACLS required.
Experience with moderate sedation strongly preferred.
Background in Cath Lab, IR, Vascular, or OR/Procedural care.
Strong IV and medication administration skills.
Comfortable managing elderly, high-risk patients.
