Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
Job Description
Centers Urgent Care: Centers Urgent Care is looking for a Psychicatric Nurse Practitioner for the Children's Relief Fund (CRF) Shelter.
This is an excellent opportunity to work in a practice that is passionate about patient & clinical care. Two years of prior experience in Mental Health/Psychiatry is preferred.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct psychiatric services for homeless individuals
- Provide general population treatment programs for those who are not connected to care
- Document medical and psychological histories, physical assessment results, diagnoses, treatment plans, prescriptions and outcomes
- Provide medication management including prescription refills and medication education
- Write prescriptions for psychotropic medications as allowed by state regulations and collaborative practice agreements
- Provide in service staff training and consultation to the social service team
Qualifications:
- Preference is given to those who have previous experience with homeless population.
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse in New York State and credentialed by the State to practice as an advanced Nurse Practitioner with a specialty in psychiatry (PMHNP).
- Must be registered as a NY State Medicaid provider. Must have a DEA# and an individual NPI #.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, to assist migrant populations of diverse ethnicities, backgrounds, ages, and sexual preferences.
- Bilingual preferred.
- BLS Required.
