Respiratory Therapist Supervisor
Richmond Center is hiring a Respiratory Therapist Supervisor in Staten Island, NY.
Duties Include:
Supervising and supporting Respiratory Therapists and respiratory support staff
Creating and managing staff schedules to ensure appropriate departmental coverage
Conducting staff evaluations, coaching, disciplinary actions, and performance write-ups as needed
Overseeing respiratory documentation to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely completion
Ensuring adherence to facility policies, infection control standards, and regulatory requirements
Interviewing and examining Residents regarding respiratory ailments
Diagnosing respiratory conditions and assessing Resident lung capacities
Reviewing test results and identifying respiratory concerns and treatment needs
Administering and overseeing respiratory treatments and procedures
Removing mucus and other fluids from Residents’ lungs and clearing airway obstructions when necessary
Educating Residents and families on lung health, respiratory conditions, and disease prevention
Instructing Residents and staff on proper respiratory equipment usage and respiratory care procedures
Providing emergency respiratory care and resuscitation in cases of ceased breathing
Collaborating with Physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop and oversee Resident treatment plans
Monitoring department operations and ensuring high-quality resident care and staff performance
Assisting with staff training, onboarding, and ongoing education initiatives
Demonstrating respect for Residents’ dignity, beliefs, and property.
Requirements Include:
Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
Current New York State Respiratory Therapist license required
Prior supervisory or leadership experience in respiratory care preferred
Experience in skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or long-term care preferred
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
Knowledge of respiratory regulations, documentation standards, and infection control procedures
Ability to effectively manage staff scheduling and departmental workflow
Detail-oriented with strong time-management skills
Current and valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
