Overview: Ellicott Center is seeking a compassionate and dependable Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our team as a Transportation CNA in Buffalo, NY. In this role, you will be responsible for safely transporting residents to and from medical appointments, therapy sessions, and other designated locations, while providing attentive, respectful care during all interactions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely transport residents to and from scheduled appointments using facility vehicles.
- Assist residents with entering and exiting vehicles, ensuring the use of appropriate mobility aids.
- Maintain accurate transportation logs and documentation of all trips.
- Monitor residents’ condition during transport and report any concerns to nursing staff.
- Collaborate with the nursing and administrative teams to coordinate transportation schedules.
- Perform basic CNA duties during downtime or as needed within the facility.
- Ensure vehicles are clean, well-maintained, and stocked with necessary supplies (e.g., first aid kit, mobility equipment).
- Comply with all safety and infection control policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state of [State].
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record (CDL may be required depending on vehicle type).
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Previous experience in long-term care or transportation preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to lift and assist residents in a safe and respectful manner.
- Dependability, flexibility, and a caring attitude toward the elderly.
